Easter Sunday

What a joyous day Easter is. This year it was much more than ever before. The Women's Bible Study at church spent the two months before Easter studying what Easter is more than I ever had before. The book, The Darkness and The Glory, makes you look at and think through the cross, the darkness, His resurrection and our future glory in ways I hadn't before. It was deep. It was life changing. I feel like I'm still processing it. I think I need to read the book again to grasp it even more. I'm so thankful that we did this.

Easter was a great celebration. He has risen indeed! Thankful doesn't even begin to express what I feel for that resurrection day! I'll have to share more on that when the words come a little easier. In the meantime, here's a look at what we spent the day doing:

We went to my parents for Easter dinner. We celebrated with my sister and her family and Jared's parents. It was a wonderful dinner and just a sweet time with the families all together. Jared and I are so blessed that our families enjoy being together. That in the 10 years we've know one another, there's never been a fuss about who is going where for what holiday. Our parents have been so gracious! We're doubly blessed that they like being together and enjoy getting together. It makes the holidays extra special!

I tried so hard to find a cute matching outfit for the boys for Easter, but it just wasn't working. It's not as easy to match boys as it is girls! Ben turned out be quite the stud! He looked like such a big boy!! I had shorts picked out for both of them, but of course it turned out to be cold and windy. A friend had a perfect pair of hand me downs for B, but Thomas was stuck with shorts. I had a cute denim jacket that looked great with his shorts and made it look more easter-ish. You should have seen the fit he threw. My almost 4 yo refused to ear it, was crying and just was furious with my idea. It reminded me of this easter several years ago. Fortunately for him, the jacket was too big and looked pretty sloppy, so he didn't have to wear it. Thankfully, it turned out to be really nice, T even ended up in the pool!

It was a great day! Can't wait for next year! and will celebrate the resurrection daily.
