Sweet Moments
I love those moments in life that come and you know it's one you want to absorb every detail of so you can lock it away for forever. A moment you wish you had a camera, even knowing that the camera couldn't capture the emotion of the moment. Like holding my Grandma Stansberry's hand. The feel of her soft skin, the smell of her sitting close. Watching my Grandma Reeder dry the little toes of her great-grandson, my son. She had a smile that showed complete happiness as she made sure she to gently get each toe. And then today, after church, a sweet moment as Thomas held his first itty-bitty baby. A dear friend at church asked him if he wanted to "hold" Josiah, her grandson. He came over quitely, as if he knew just how precious and delicate the baby was. He placed one hand under the baby and the other one on top, carefully looking over the babies face and fingers with curiosity, fascination and delight. He didn't say anything he just smiled. Then he let go, gently touched the babies head and went back to his running. It was a precious moment, one I will tuck away for a very long time.
