Pinterest

Have you discovered Pinterest yet?  It's the best and yet it's the worst.  It's more of a time sucker than facebook.  However, at the end of it you get some fun crafts, recipes and some wonderful things for the kids.  (yes, it's still a time sucker that must be managed!!)  

Yesterday I was very thankful for pinterest.  The boys spent forever at the kitchen table playing with their pinterest inspired fun!  Thomas was there for almost two hours and I had to make him stop so we could eat dinner.  Benjamin lasted 40 minutes, which is huge for his short time span.  They love the stuff!!

The blue goo is "flubber" that we made about a month ago.  The red is "koolaid playdough" (which smells delicious).

 (i'm sorry this one is all wrong... computer issues.  but look at that smile!!)  They discovered how much fun it is to use lego guys to add to the fun.  They made monsters and bad buys and towers and so much more!

It was the perfect moment to watch, enjoy and absorb the little moments and the sweetness of my boys.  Look at how precious they are!! and enjoy the craziness of messy bed hair and explorations that come with my sweet boys.

What do you do before 7am at your house?

Well, we take the trash out in the rain.

Take turns getting a good look at the sun rise, in the rain,

put on a sock puppet show, complete with the puppets tickling, talking and singing,

 turn in to toilet paper, mummies,

then bust out of them and make a big pile.

oh and just so you don't think we are too creative that early....
we also watch cartoons and can hardly take our eyes off them for a picture!!

A Little Side "Work"

Some of you may not know, but once in awhile I get to do some wedding coordinating!! No, I'm not a wedding planner, I'm a coordinator. I don't do the months of planning and organizing, it's too much!! However, I do come in the weeks before the wedding and help get everything organized. Then, I run the rehearsal and the day of. I LOVE IT!!!! I get to be there the day of the wedding so the bride and her mother can stop the crazy running around and just enjoy the big day. I am a firm believer that every wedding needs a coordinator. That way the family and the couple can enjoy the day they've been planning and waiting for their whole lives!!

I was very busy with weddings when we were living in Fremont and even worked at a church for a couple of years. I loved it! In the past 10 years I figured I've done almost 2 dozen weddings and almost that many receptions. It's slowed down since we've moved, but I recently got the opportunity to do a wedding for a great couple from our church. It was so wonderful to see Christina get married and be a part of her big day! Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture with the happy couple, but I got some others. Christina goes to our church, so it was lots of fun hanging out with the college girls and other young ladies!

PS you should Jared at these weddings. He's a pro. I'm convinced he could have done this one with out me. He's now filmed and photographed weddings! I just need him to get his wedding license to perform the ceremony then he's the complete package!!

A Great Day at the Beach

Last Monday, Labor Day, a bunch of families from church headed to the beach. We were ready for an adventure and a whole day out of the house. So we loaded up the car and headed out. Unfortunately, that wasn't until 10:00, so by the time we got there the parking lot was packed!! J dropped us off with all of our stuff and drove off to the far reaches of the earth to park. Thankfully Me and both boys ran into some wonderful college kids (from our church) who helped us haul all our stuff down to the group. When I got down there I realized I didn't have the diaper bags. Of all things to forget, that was the worst. Sweet Benjamin had a very full diaper and a very empty belly. Of course, there was no cell phone reception, so we waited for Jared. I had no idea which direction he had driven, so it made no sense to walk and find him. My husband is wonderful. With a slightly annoyed smile, he turned around and headed back to the car and returned with the missing bag.

After that, the day went smoothly. Benjamin managed to get in a short nap and then just hang out on Daddy's lap after Daddy got in a good game of V-ball. Thomas covered every inch of his of his body in sand. I had a blast visiting with friends and watching my boys have loads of fun!

The youth group kids made this wonderful hole and then turned it over to the little guys for sliding down into, jumping in and around and eventually taking over with all their own beach tools. It was their favorite thing of the whole day!
The day ended with a yummy trip to In N' Out. Yummy!

My Creative Threads

I was just catching up on reading some blogs and was reminded just how much I love my friends purses. She's also added quilts, nursing blankets (or boobie blockers as we like to call them), heat resistant curling iron holders and key chains. Her prices are awesome. Easter is coming, Birthdays, my 30th birthday, showers and of course there is always Mother's Day. Plus ladies, it's a new season, what better excuse do you need to buy a new purse!!

Best Sale Ever

Last week I got to go to the best sales thing ever!! It's called Just Between Friends and it's a traveling consignment shop. You get to drop off clothes and all things baby one day, come for a pre-sale (if you dropped stuff off) and then it's open to the public. This one took place in Sacramento at the convention center. It was amazing. There were aisles and aisles of clothing from new baby to size 12 or so, shoes and then on the other half were aisles of the baby gear. Dozens of swings, exersaucers, toys, swings, bouncers. In the back were strollers, cribs, bassinets, changing tables, gliders and more!! They even had diaper bags, wipe warmers, seriously all things baby!! I got some awesome deals and am hoping to head back to the one in Roseville with Audra and my mom.

Here are some fun toys I picked up for Thomas. The slip in slide was $4, all the dinos for $3, the shoes were $5 (practically brand new) and then the bag that i took with me. It wasn't quite big enough. You should have seen all the moms with laundry baskets with ropes attached so they could drag them along, seriously!!

I got all these clothes (13 items total) for $38!! They only take clothes that look new, no holes or stains. It made the looking easy because you knew they were all in good shape.

To Infinity and Beyond...

Thomas and Buzz have become the best of friends since Christmas. It was weeks before he took off the wings and stopped running through out the house. He loves pushing the buttons and repeating all the phrases. Buzz's arm is now broken, but he doesn't seem to mind. He just takes the "laser arm" with him all through out the house. Above is evidence of the fun they have had. Buzz feel off the counter and re-bruised Thomas' already healing bruise. It was pretty!

Why I Love Uppercase Living

I am loving my uppercase living! After the party, I was able to order so many wonderful things.

We spiffed up Thomas' room with the Alphagator, which he loves, and a little saying, "Boys, a little dirt never hurt."


With this order and the previous order I gained 3 "Gather" signs and a "Happy Thanksgiving" which I seperated into a wreath and the saying. I went to Ikea, bought some platters and went to town. I recently sold them all at a craft fair we had with church. I'm not so sure why the picture is crooked and couldn't figure out how to fix it... sorry!
I also purchased some Christmas Expressions.

In the frame I put the Hymn, "O Little Town of Bethlehem" and Luke 2 in the other. I have a special order to make another one!!
Then these say "It is better to give than receive" I later added some curly wire to the top for a hanger.
