Had we not undergone this adventures with friends, it would not have been fun!!
Thomas saw a picture of pirate cake pops on the front of a family circle magazine and asked if we could make them. I'd been wanting to give them a try, so I agreed.
We bought the supplies and enjoyed some friends to join us. I'm so glad I did. She's super crafty and enjoys baking. I do as well, but I've learned so much from M. With this project I learned again that I am not patient. They did turn out great and I might try them again, but with different supplies. What do you think?
First, you bake a cake, crumble it and then mix in some frosting. Then shape them into balls, harden them in the fridge, dip them in melted candy and then decorate. Well, i think I used too much frosting, so they didn't harden enough, the candy was soft or thin enough so the balls fell off. The best part was decorating them with the sprinkles and watching the boys have fun.
They each got to sprinkle several and then make a pirate. They enjoyed it, but I think they had more fun playing and eating sprinkles!!
I really like how the sprinkles look. So fall-y and cheerful!! There were way too many to eat, even between our two families. So we took them to church and had the boys share them with their Sunday School class.
So next time, I'm trying almond bark and less frosting!! What have you all done?!
