Lessons in Manhood

I'm hoping I'm not the only one, but their have been several evenings where it seems impossible to make dinner and entertain Thomas at the same time. One evening last week it seemed especially bad. I was extra crabby and he was extra needy, never a good combination. I think I had told Thomas he was just going to have to figure things out on his own while I made dinner, to which he responded with a temper-tantrum. I knew I hadn't responded in the best way, but I also knew I could not calmly respond to my little one. My husband quietly came in, said a few calm words to Thomas and whisked him outside. I felt a little guilty that I couldn't do that, but left it alone and went on with making dinner. A few moments later I hear the sound of the lawn mower from our backyard. We don't have gardeners, so that left one option, Jared was mowing the lawn. But wait, where was Thomas? Jared being the wonderful husband and father that he is, had figured out how to safely hold Thomas, 16 months now, and get the lawn mowed. They both had a great time!! I could help but smile and send out a big "thank you" to the Lord for blessing me with a great family!!
