"Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am,
to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound.
Everywhere and in all things I have learned both
to be full and to be hungry,
both to abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Philippians 4:11-13
So often we quote the last verse without thinking of the content. Last night at Titus 2 we looked at the content and what a joy it was!! It's been a tough couple of weeks and in this I am to find joy and to be content. I was reminded that God never changes, circumstances do. "To know Him, is to be content." To truly know God, to know his Word, to know his creation, to know his love, is to be content. Life changes daily, God stays the same. It's hard because life's daily trials, ups and downs are right here in our face, but God stays the same. When I reach the end of a bad day I want to say, "you know what, it's ok, no wait, it's more than OK! I believe in God!" His will is where I want to be and in that I know that it is always more than OK. Paul applied his knowledge of God to life and found his contentment in that, that is my life goal as well.
"Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You."
Psalms 38:9
