Our Christmas Morning

I couldn't wait to wake up and open presents with my family. I was so excited to see Thomas' reaction to everything and just to share in the excitement. It started out quite differently than I expected. Thomas had been running a fever the night before, so he ended up sleeping in and Benjamin did somehow as well. It was a great gift for Jared and I, we never get to sleep in! Thomas came walking down the hall and just wanted to snuggle. I then had to convince him to go out to the room and see if the stockings were full. As he slowly woke up a little bit more the excitement started kicking in. By the time Benjamin woke up he could hardly contain himself. He helped me get all the presents out and all stacked up and then we dug in.

Funny story to go with this picture below. It's a click start by leapfrog and Thomas is loving it. We bought it used at a consignment sale so it didn't come in it's original packaging. I just found a box to put it in and wrapped it up. When Thomas got the wrapping off of it, he asked what it was. I responded, "Look Thomas, you got a box." Not quite getting my humor he said, "Thank you mommy!" and moved right on to the next box! We had to actually stop him and explain that he needed to open the box when we realized he was really moving on. He now loves it and has figured out how to play it all by himself. It's a computer keyboard you hook up to the TV and a game box. It's basically an educational computer game system, but for the TV.
Benjamin was all ready to dig into presents again. In the background is his gumball machine that Thomas picked out. I'm not sure if Thomas picked it out because he thought B would like or if he wanted it for himself. He loves having a baby brother for so many reasons and one of them is definitely for the toys. He's going to have to learn to share real quick. But back to B!! He's attacking the wrapping paper here. He thought that was so much fun!

The boys with their presents from one another. Benjamin "picked out" Slinky dog for Thomas. Thomas still thanks him for it almost everyday. It really is quite sweet.

I had to get the shot of the boys in front of the tree. You can see some of T's first homemade ornaments in the background. Something fun we did in the last couple of weeks.
Here they are playing with Benjamin's toys. Benjamin finally discovered the real toys were what was wrapped in the paper, not just the paper.
