Train Museum

Thomas had his first train experience this last week. We met a friend and her two year old in Sacramento and explored the museum together. Thomas couldn't wait to see his friend Caleb and didn't want to go to the museum until he understood that Caleb would be there as well. I love how much he loves to play with friends! Well, the trains were a hit, too. Thomas has been going through a phase lately where he's afraid of the dark, monsters and many other random things. As we would walk up to things he would either announce, "too scary," or "not afraid." In the end both boys agreed they liked the big trains and playing with the little trains.
Afterwards we had lunch and decided to explore Old Town Sacramento. This turned out to be an extra fun adventure. There were parked horse and carriage rides waiting for customers. This friendly, Santa looking gentlemen called out and we politely turned him down. Just as we got passed Laura said just what I was thinking, "Want to? That's not too bad a price." So, we went back and took a ride!! It was great. We never do things like that and the boys loved it. Thomas at first, didn't want to get on. He informed us it was too scary, but ended up having the best time. He and Caleb bopped their heads to the rythm of the horses steps, hummed along to the bumps of the cobblestone and giggled and smiled the entire ride. Afterwards they got to meet the horse, Luke and take some pictures. We then ended the day with a special treat in the Salt Water Taffy store.
Thanks guys for a day full of new things!
