Chrismas with The Matlocks (Part 4 & 5)

Friday was spent with Jared's parents. They gave us money for a vacuum which we went and got that morning. We found my new friend at Lowes, recently marked down and an after-Christmas sale of an extra 20% off!! It really is a beautiful thing!! It was amazing as well as disgusting to see what our old vacuum had left behind. Jared's parents made it to our house later that afternoon and we opened more presents!! Thomas got the greatest tool box and a remote control fire engine! I'll have to get some video of him playing with it up. He cracked us all up the way he quickly put it together and learned to pick it up and move it to the wood floor, where it will go much faster.

We had a nice little dinner. My mother-in-law was so nice to come in and check on my progress as I tried something new. We had Cornish Game Hens, with cornbread stuffing and baked sweet potatoes and a salad for some color. Not too bad! : )

Saturday morning the excitement continued as we all piled in our car and headed North to Redding to spend the day with Jared's sister, Aleta, and her family. We again, had a great time being with family and playing with the kids. She has 4 kids, one who is Thomas' age. They all have such a good time together. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Thomas and his new favorite person, Aubree. He dragger her everywhere with him!! This is them playing peek-a-boo out of the pantry and then later getting in some last minute snuggles. She was contentedly watching her show when he tackled her on the sofa and wouldn't leave her alone. He got her to play and then snuggle. It's so sweet!!
