The Big Adventure

This last week the Nelson’s and the Matlock’s took the 2T’s on an adventure to the happiest place on earth, Disneyland!! What a week it was! We were all amazed at our timing, the skies were clear, and the park was empty. The weather was in the upper 60’s and low 70’s and we went from Tuesday to Friday. It was perfect, if you ignore the fact that we all took turns with the flu. Yep that’s right, first the Nelson’s and then the Matlock’s on the trip home.
We certainly did not let that stop us. They boys were able to ride all sorts of things, including their favorite’s Nemo, It’s a Small World, the carousel, and Dumbo. They were able to take pictures with all their favorite characters and see the fireworks, the parade and Playhouse Disney (my personal favorite). Thomas soaked it all in. He watched most things with his mouth open and his eyes studying everything. I had been so afraid of his reaction to the characters, but the first time he saw Mickey, he excitedly pointed and exclaimed, “Mick!” and tried to get over to him. Playhouse Disney was a stage play that the boys danced to, clapped during and even cheered for. Thomas could hardly take it all in.
Some of the rides were not so appreciated, like Pirates, which made him cry. The picture on the right best captures his feeling on several of the rides. He wasn't sure how he felt. That picture is from the Jungle Cruise. He didn't know if he should like the animals or hide from them. Over all he loved it and is still talking about the characters and his cousin Timmy.
Even the adults got to have some fun. The boys got away at one point and got to ride a few rides. Molly and I got to let out some Mommy-stress and scream as loud as we wanted on California Screamin’, it was great!!!
We made it home late Friday night and, for the most part, are all over the flu and getting back to the normal schedule.

(Yes, we made the boys match... it was so much fun!! I'm sure they'll agree when they're older!)

What a wonderful trip and so fun that Thomas and Timmy have one another. I am so sorry about the flu though...you have such a great attitude about it:)
