"No, Santa, No"

Today, Thomas met Santa. It was such a sad moment. I've always heard that toddlers don't like the jolly man in the glasses and the red hat, today I witnessed it. We walked up to Santa's area of the mall, no intention to take pictures, just to let Thomas see him. As soon as Santa turned and waved Thomas burst into tears. It was so sad. He turned away, buried himself in his fathers arms and said, "No, no, no." He just wanted to leave. Then he became a little curious, just what was that. The sweetest part was when he turned back around, we asked him to say hello, he took a deep breath and said hello. He watched Santa for awhile and was ok as Santa showed him a toy, that is until Santa stood up and took a step near him, again with the tears. He did take the toy that Santa sent over with his helper and admist the tears, said a very polite, "Tank tou." He was relieved to see that we were leaving, the tears had calmed down and he waved and said, "bye, bye." Anytime we mentioned Santa, he would cling to us and say, "nooo, nooo." We'll try again another day!
