Mommy's Little Helper

You know how you have all these memories from childhood based on pictures?  You don't really remember the event, but it's ingrained in your memory because you've seen the picture 100 times, in a baby book or from a frame your mom had.  Well, one of those for me is helping my mom unload the dishwasher.  I have a bandanna tied around my head and I was getting dishes out of the dishwasher.

Well, now that memory has been passed down a generation!!  One of Thomas' chores around the house to earn a little bit of money is to help me put the dishes away.  It started with just the spoons and forks, but he was ready for more and hey!  who can turn down help with the dishes!!  Well, little brother was not to be left out of this "fun" and has joined in.  Not a dish has been broken (so far!) and what sweet memories have been made!

Look what a happy heart he is working with!  Wonder if I can keep it fun until he's 18? Who am I kidding, I'll be happy with this excitement when he's 10!
I think his favorite part is closing it up!

Punishment?

I think not! This is Thomas having fun! He found the cleaning gloves Grammy had left out and wanted to have some "fun". He thought it was so cool to be able to do this and to watch the crusty, burnt gunk crumble.... wonder what other dirty spots are lurking around here just waiting as fun to be discovered!

Pulling Weeds

Last Friday, Thomas was in and out of the house playing games in the backyard, chasing Bailey, coming in to see me or grab another toy. He was having a blast! I was cleaning the kitchen and picking up the rooms. It was great! He was busy, I got my stuff done, but could still keep an eye on him. On one of his trips in the house he found my dusting glove and claimed it as his own. I said sure, it's for dusting so you have to dust. A few moments later I realized he was no longer in the room, but back outside. I couldn't see him, uh-oh. No worries were needed. He was down the side of the house, with a yard waste bucket up and filling it with weeds. He proudly showed me that he was using my glove to do it! So cute and so sweet I couldn't be upset in the least, it will wash!
Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of that moment, but do have some from a previous weekend when he was out helping us in the yard. He loves picking weeds!!!
