Stansberry Style Camping

Or perhaps I should say "Reeder Style" as our family camping style has definitely taken after my mom!
When I told people we were going to Tahoe for a couple of days with my family, most responded with, "Oh, where are you camping?"  I told them we weren't really camping, that this would be our own style of camping.  And I'm just fine with it!!  This was so not roughin' it, any of this (even mom) would say that.  It's how we do family vacay together.  You'll likely never catch this group camping, in the traditional sense, together.  I, however, had all sorts of fun pointing out how we did our camping!

The hike to the lake: Approx 3 minutes with steep inclines

Sunset watched with the feet in the pool, to the sound of waves crashing on the lake shore and the family laughing, awesome!

Our tent: see it has a slanted ceiling!  This place was awesome!  It slept 12 people between two lofts and 4 bedrooms, complete with 4 full bathrooms.  You can see Thomas and I at the very top looking out over the 3rd story loft, his secret sleeping place.  Then below us is the second story with it's own loft, 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath.  Then, downstairs was the kitchen, living/dining room and the two master bedrooms.  Not a five star establishments, but so not roughing it!  (the room service didn't even know how to make a bed or do our dishes, come on, sympathy folks! : )

"Stansberry Style" Paddle Boating:
Yes, I know this is not a paddle boat.  Jared and I had thought it'd be fun to go for a paddle boat ride and when we mentioned it all were on board.  So Thursday morning after a yummy egg scramble for breakfast, we packed up the kiddos and walked down the beach to the rental place.  Well, Mom, the head director and camping expert, saw pontoon boats listed.  The decision was made, we would all ride together.  After all we would get farther faster and get to see more for our hours rental.  I sound sarcastic, I know, I am so grateful for this executive decision!!  The ride was awesome!!

Thomas and Grammy got to be the lookouts and tell us what all was coming and happening on the shore.

We all got to hang-out, talk and just enjoy the beauty of God's creation so awesomely displayed in Tahoe

All three of the little boys got to drive the boat (and all 3 of the men took turns as well)

Ethan totally conked out for a peaceful nap, which helped keep the peace later

Back at the cabin, there was lots of room to spread out, rest, play games and get the toys everywhere!  Just what vacation is all about!

Our camping trip most certainly included exploration.  Benjamin and Thomas loved exploring every nook and cranny of the condo, especially climbing the secret stairs up to the secret room.

More proof that it was roughing it for some of us:  Jared had to do dishes.  That by his definition is neither camping or vacay.
and finally, having to put the furniture together.  they do work even on their vacation
Finally, an example of a happy camper, packing all the necessary supplies back up in all the necessary bags! I love my Mom!!

More to come!!  Our afternoon on the beach and trip to Apple Hill
