The End of the Year

We decided to make the most of Jared's 10 year reunion. With his parents no longer in Pacifica, we realized we didn't have anywhere to stay but wanted to stay in the area. So... we had to stay in the city. No, we didn't have to, but it sure sounded like fun!! As a government employee, Jared can get great rates at many hotels, so we checked out our options in San Francisco. To our delight (ok, mine!), we got an awesome rate at the Sir Francis Drake, right in Union Square. I was so excited!!!

The hotel did not disappoint! Sure the room was small and the bathroom almost not there, but it was an experience!! The lobby was beautiful, the service was great and we felt spoiled. All was wonderful until about 2 am in the morning when I woke up with the flu! Yep! The bathroom and I became very well acquainted. Then I stayed in the bed the next morning until we had to check-out. Oh well! The boys had a great time exploring... I guess we'll just have to do it again.

Before the flu kicked in we were able to explore Union Square and even the shopping center. It was the 30th of December, so the tree was still up. Thomas exclaimed from the car as we drove by, "Whoa, that's the biggest tree I've ever seen!"

The reunion was also really nice. Jared had a great time catching up with many people he hadn't seen in 10 years. It was for all the classes between 1990 and 2000, so his sister was there as well. They served a nice catered dinner and had a great time for catching up.

Here is Jared with his classmates and some of their spouses. I think about half his class was there.
