It's been a good day!

Today has been a good day. I'm still struggling over here as I'm learning what it means to be a mother of two. How do I balance time between two kids? How do I stay sane as I do it? Will the cleaning ever get done? Will I ever enjoy this craziness? Will I ever feel like myself again? Through all this, however, God has stretched me. Many days that stretching has been painful. At this point, I'm pleased to say, that I really am thankful for the trials over the last few months. They've brought me to my knees, which is a good place to be. I plan on writing more about all this as I continue to process what I have learned and how I have changed, but for now I just had to share that it's been a good day. Want to hear about it?! I'll take that as a yes!

It began at 5:30 when Jared kissed me good bye. I rolled over to go back to sleep, but was rudely disturbed by a 3 year old who had decided it was time to start the day. I convinced him he needed to stay in his bed and this lasted until 6:30, which was just after I pulled myself out of bed to read my Bible (a new habit I'm trying to start). Benjamin must have sensed the commotion because instead of sleeping until about 7:30, he was awake at 6:45. I guess God had planned an earlier start for my day then I had. I remained in my sleepy funk for far to long, but snapped out of it by children wanting attention and phone calls to be made and answered. We've now (at12:30) gotten one load of laundry done, started working on T's Halloween costume and made a batch of blue play dough. Thomas and I have had lots of fun hanging out and playing. We turned the making of the play dough into an experiment. Thomas felt the difference between flour and salt, as well as water and oil. Then the best part, he got to add lots of blue!! All the while, B has taken 2 great naps, still in the middle of his second. There are several hours between now and when Jared gets home, but I'm sure they will go great! And I'm sure of that because I serve a faithful God! He answers our prayers in His way and in His timing. I've seen that today. I prayed for my attitude to change and that He has done!

Can't wait for tomorrow!
