Christmas in the Matlock Home

Christmas season is definitely upon us and we are thoroughly enjoying it!! Christmas decorating has been a process, but most of it is done. We are still without a tree, but hope to resolve that this weekend. Thomas is loving experiencing Christmas in a whole new way this year. He is taking everything in from the decorations in our home, to the lights on homes and of course, his favorite, the singing and dancing characters at the stores. He lights up and shouts with his hands in the air, "Yeah, Christmas!!" everytime a Christmas song comes on the radio.

It's such fun enjoying it through his eyes. The biggest challenge is keeping his focus on Jesus and away from Santa. We talk about the Bible Story and he is even memorizing a verse, but oh how distracting that Santa can be!! Wont' give up on that one though!!

Hope you all are off to a great Merry Christmas Season!

Here are a few pictures of Christmas in our home:

I decided to go fancy with the dining room table.
Even pulled out my mom's lace tablecloth!

This is one of Thomas' favorite Christmas friends.
I thought he was going to pee his pants when he saw this snowman. He could hardly contain his excitement. We check on him everyday to make sure he's survived the wind. One morning we found him blown over, so now we must daily check him. Notice Thomas and the snow man are holding hands! So cute!!

First decoration of the year!
Thomas was so excited to help, so I let him hang the first decoration.
