Yesturday was Jared's last day working from home for awhile, so I decided we needed to do something fun!! He got up early and got to work, so he took his lunch break at breakfast time. We enjoyed a breakfast of champions at Denny's. : ) Thomas had a great time and it was nice to get out early in the day together. Later, I took my time getting ready as Thomas watched a movie as Jared worked. I had Bible study with a friend during naptime and suggested (no, I told... but suggested sounds so much better!) that Jared come up with something he wanted to do that would be fun for the three of us and not cost more than $20. We would have family fun from 3 to 6. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at letting him figure things out on his own... so I called home with some "suggestions." He ended up deciding to go on a tour of the Jelly Belly Factory, so local free fun!! It ended up being a great afternoon, as soon as Thomas got over a little case of crabiness. He loved seeing the Jelly's and Jared really enjoyed it as well. On the way home we stoped at the harbor in Suisun City, which was actually quite nice. We just might have to return there for some more "family fun." Unfortunately, I left the camera sitting on the desk at home, so I don't have any pictures to share.
Now we have happy memories of Jared's days working at home, and will miss the freedom of having him here for some mommy get-a-way as Thomas sleeps and company for lunch. He's going to miss having one day off of his long commute, especially now that it looks like he'll be heading to Oakland (90 min each way) in the next couple of months. Pray for patience and an oppurtunity to get his day back at home!
