God's timing is so funny!
Thomas woke up early, which put us off to an early start on everything. I don't like to sit around the house any longer than we need to, so we were ready for the day and at Target at 8:45. It was wonderful, so empty and the people were so friendly. I enjoy visiting with people I meet, especially other mom's with kids around Thomas' age. I met another lady just like that. She immediately struck up a conversation with me and started telling me about all the great things to do here in Vacaville. Some I had heard about and others were new. I'ld been wanting to take Thomas to the toddler class at the library, but had never looked up when it began. She told me how wonderful it was, and Jared was able to find the time for me. We had plenty of time to finish our errands, get to the class and home in plenty of time for my writing class this afternoon.
Here's where God's timing gets even better!
We had just enough time to run into the Bible bookstore and pick-up a new DVD for T that I had been wanting. There was a sweet older lady at the counter discussing different versions of the Bible with an employee. The gal had to help another customer, so me the one that loves to talk with other people, offered my opinion and found out that this was her first Bible! We talked about different ways to compare Bibles and different places to start reading. I was even able to invite her to join us for church! It was just fun to be a part of God's plan this morning and show someone His love! I'm praying I'll see her Sunday morning! Now if only I had gotten her name...
Well, back to toddler time... We made it in plenty of time and got a spot. After I convinced Thomas that I wasn't leaving, he started to enjoy himself. It was really cute. He watched the other kids sing along, moved some of his body parts, and clapped and "yayed" at the appropriate times. He had been keeping his eye on this great big chicken (which he is fascinated with lately) and when it was time to see what the chicken was for, he was all ears. All the kids got to play with the hen's eggs, which were shakers. He loved it!!!
At the very end of the time was my favorite part. Miss Nancy passed out "falling stars" to all the kids and then they all waited for their turn to put them on the black felt. After Thomas saw the first kid go for it, he could hardly wait. He finally figured out everyone was waiting for their turn. When each child was done he would peek back at me to see if he could go, and then continue to wait his turn (somewhat patiently, but mainly because I had my finger in his belt loop). Finally, his turn arrived!! He walked up to the front all by himself. He reached as high as he could above all the other stars, carefully, but confidentely, placed his star. Then, proudly turned around beaming and ran straight for me! Me, being the proud mom, clapped and clapped and even had a few proud tears in my eyes. It really was so sweet. I was shocked to see just how grown-up he really is!
So today, I'm rejoicing in the Lord's timing, sweet ladies in stores and my beautiful toddler!

Yay Thomas!! I used to LOVE to take Harrison to Toddler Storytime. I hope you continue going because it is a great experience. I enjoyed reading about how God used you in some ladies' lives today. Thanks for blessing us all. PS. Haven't we all been at Taget at 8:45 in the morning?
